JET COHORT

Launching in the Fall of 2019, the JET Cohorts were established to serve
Black, male students at Benson, North, and Northwest high schools.

This partnership between the aforementioned Omaha Public Schools (OPS) high schools, the 100 Black Men of Omaha, Metropolitan Community College, and the Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers Scholarship foundation seek to provide an avenue for young men interested in the trades. Utilizing “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens,” a structured conversation takes place that helps introduce these young men to topics that can assist in ensuring their academic and social success. The cohorts meet once a month with members of the 100 Black Men of Omaha staff and network.
